Chemical peel

Procedure

A chemical peel removes the aged outer layers of the skin. For this, we use proven substances such as fruit acids, phytic acid and trichloroacetic acid, as well as other safe chemical agents.

The procedure begins by protecting the skin, after which the peel is applied. At first, it may cause a slight burning sensation, but this gradually subsides and is therefore not overly uncomfortable. For chemical peels, we use 50% and 70% concentrations – the treatment begins with the lower concentration, while the second procedure continues with the higher, 70% concentration.

On different areas of the body

The peel can be applied in a targeted way to specific areas with fine lines – around the eyes and the edges of the lips, on the cheeks, or over the entire face and neck. It can also be used on other exposed parts of the body where the skin has been damaged by sun exposure, such as the décolletage and hands.

Quick recovery

The peel is selected according to your skin type, skin irregularities and your wishes. For the full effect, the treatment should be repeated several times. The effect of the peel is visible immediately, although it is not a substitute for a facelift. Superficial peels have no significant after-effects apart from temporary redness, so no recovery period is required, while recovery after deeper peels takes a few days.

Frequently asked questions

How many peel treatments are needed to achieve the desired effect?

We recommend at least three consecutive chemical peel treatments, with 14-day intervals between them. If you would like to enhance the effect further, we recommend additional treatments.

Can I go out in the sun after a chemical peel?

You should definitely avoid sun exposure after a peel because the skin is photosensitive during this period and therefore more sensitive to UV radiation. On the contrary, we recommend avoiding the sun, as skin spots that have been lightened by the peel may darken again. For this reason, we recommend chemical peel treatments during the autumn and winter months.

What can I expect immediately after the procedure?

Slight redness may occur, although not always. In addition, there is no severe peeling or tightness of the skin after the procedure, as was sometimes the case with such treatments in the past. Instead, the facial skin feels fresh.
