Renovation of the oldest hotel in Dolenjske Toplice
In the heart of Dolenjske Toplice stands a hotel that has been shaping the story of spa tourism here for nearly two and a half centuries – Hotel Vital. Built back in 1776, it was last thoroughly renovated in 1992. Today, the machines are buzzing again around and inside it – we have begun a long-planned comprehensive renovation that will combine rich tradition with the comfort of modern living.
What the Future Holds
The complex renovation, which will last for two years, includes the reconstruction of Hotel Vital, with an extension on its south side, where the existing structure will receive a roof. The renovation aims to create more comfortable conditions for guests and patients undergoing medical rehabilitation, improve ventilation and energy efficiency, and ensure a higher level of fire safety.
The renovation will include:

a complete renovation of hotel rooms and bathrooms, creating larger and more comfortable spaces, also adapted for guests with mobility impairments,

a full renovation of the care department – for guests who need more assistance and adaptation,

installation of new ventilation and air conditioning systems, modern electrical and mechanical installations, and IT connections in the rooms,
-
renovation of the ground floor – clinics, changing rooms, and medical documentation archive.
With the reconstruction, the number of hotel rooms will be slightly reduced, but comfort will be increased; the spaces will be adapted to the diverse needs of guests – from classic hotel rooms to care units.
A special feature will be the covered terrace, which will be transformed into a bright space for physiotherapy and socializing. Glazed walls and wooden details will give the space a modern, warm look that complements this historic building.
We are also renovating our historic thermal pools
With the renovation of Hotel Vital, the oldest, first thermal pools in Dolenjske Toplice will shine in a new appearance. The renovation concept envisions a calm, soothing, and elegant atmosphere, enhanced by modern materials and thoughtful lighting.
| The Prince Pool will shine in lighter shades, creating a sense of spaciousness and cleanliness. Specially selected lighting with warm, soft light will create an inviting, luxurious atmosphere. Underwater spotlights will project gentle waves of light onto the ceiling, adding dynamics and a sense of movement to the space. |
| The Cave Pool will retain its mysterious character, but with new materials in darker tones and lighting that emphasizes the arches and texture of the walls. Underwater LED lighting will create magical reflections, giving a sense of depth and mystique to the space. |

The renovation will be extensive and therefore lengthy, but we promise to keep you updated on the progress and news at the Springs of Health. The surprise, however, will be reserved for the moment you step through the hotel doors yourself – to make your experience even more special...
