Strunjan through the eyes of a guest

„... where my wife and I have been going for many years. When you drive from Belvedere towards Strunjan, you can already feel the sea. In front of you lies a plain, embraced by a double row of pine trees. This was planted in 1935 with 110 pines. The avenue has 55 trees on each side, and the scent of pine overwhelms you. It is the longest and best-preserved avenue in Slovenia. In 2004 it was protected and declared a natural monument.“

“During the persimmon festival, as the persimmon days are called, an exhibition of different types of persimmons is prepared near Hotel Svoboda. The women’s group prepares various desserts and pastries, jams, and dried fruits. At the same time, an exhibition of artworks on the theme of persimmons is on display, which is prepared every year by creative children from the nearby kindergarten and primary school students. However, Strunjan is not only rich in persimmons. Around the hotel itself, olive trees of the istrska belica and leccino varieties also grow, located right by the sea and the saltpans near the Pinija restaurant. This oil is served at the hotel on special occasions, as it is produced in small quantities”.

Within the spa complex there is also Hotel Laguna, which has also been renovated, and Villa Magnolija, which was built on the site of a demolished older building. They gained 11 apartments intended for families, couples, and individuals. At the top there is a larger suite with glass walls overlooking Stjuža, the sea, and Piran. The Mediterranean hotel is categorized with 4 stars. Near the beach, the renovated Pinija restaurant has been operating for several years. The terrace opens a magical view of the blue sea and at sunset a beautiful view of the church of Piran.”
